Compression hose increase circulation, prevent blood clots, and support the lower legs, ankles, and feet. There are various types of hoses, and each is used for different purposes. Patients who are seeking relief from blood clots must have accurate circulation, but compression hoses that are too tight could cause the opposite effect. They need to conform to the patient’s leg, be long enough to cover the specific area, and tight enough to work but loose enough to not decrease circulation.
